We are seeking an experienced Hardware Management Systems Administrator responsible for the planning, configuration, implementation, and support of IBM Z hardware infrastructure. The individual will lead hardware refresh and migration initiatives, including z16 to z17 upgrades, processor activations, I/O configuration management, LPAR administration, and enterprise infrastructure transformation projects.
The role requires extensive knowledge of IBM Z server architecture, I/O subsystem design, HCD/HCM administration.

Hybrid role in Guadalajara or Mexico City
Core Responsibilities
Administer IBM Z hardware platforms including z16, z17 and future IBM Z generations.
Manage hardware lifecycle activities including installation, upgrades, maintenance, and decommissioning.
Support day-to-day hardware administration activities across production and disaster recovery environments.
Coordinate hardware maintenance activities with IBM and third-party vendors.
Hardware Upgrade and Refresh Management
Lead hardware migration projects including z16 to z17 upgrades and technology refresh initiatives.
Develop upgrade strategies, migration plans, implementation procedures, and rollback plans.
Coordinate hardware installation, configuration, testing, and production cutover activities.
HCD / HCM Administration. Develop and maintain Hardware Configuration Definition (HCD) environments.
Administer Hardware Configuration Manager (HCM) repositories and configuration models.
Create, modify, validate, and maintain hardware configuration definitions.
Ensure consistency between logical and physical hardware configurations.
IODF Generation and Management
Experience create and maintain IODFs supporting multiple environments. Configure and Validate Processor Definition,
Channel paths, Control units, DASD subsystems, Tape subsystems, Network devices, FICON infrastructure.
Support dynamic and planned I/O reconfigurations.
Manage FICON channel infrastructure and path definitions.
Configure channel path redundancy and resiliency.
Analyze and resolve hardware connectivity issues.
Support SAN and storage integration projects.
Define, configure, and maintain Logical Partitions (LPARs).Perform LPAR activation and configuration changes.
Manage processor allocations including: CPs, zIIPs, IFLs, Specialty engines
