Role Summary

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop and maintain enterprise applications using Java technologies. The ideal candidate should possess strong hands-on experience in backed development, microservices architecture, frontend development and cloud-based deployment environments. This role will closely collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality and scalable software solutions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test and maintain scalable applications using Java 8/11, and Spring Boot.
  • Build and enhance frontend applications using Angular and support backend servies with Node.JS when required.
  • Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices-based applications.
  • Perform database design, development, and optimization using Oracle Database.
  • Implement caching and distributed computing solutions using Hazelcast.
  • Integrate messaging and event-driven systems using ActiveMQ.
  • Deploy, monitor and support applications in containerized/cloud environments utilizing AWS EKS.
  • Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines through Jenkins and DevOps best practices.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, QA teams, and other developers throughout the SDLC.

  • Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions.

  • Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards, security, and performance best practices.

  • Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical discussions and solution design.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 5-8 years of software development experience.

  • Experience in Insurance domain will be an added advantage.

  • Familiarity with regulatory, compliance, security, and risk management requirements within the insurance industry is advantageous.

  • Strong hands-on experience in Java 8/11 and Spring Boot.

  • Experience developing REST APIs and microservices architecture.

  • Proficiency in Angular frontend development.

  • Experience with Node.js development.

  • Strong knowledge of Oracle Database, SQL, and performance tuning.

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Experience in enterprise-scale application development with Hazelcast caching technologies.

  • Knowledge of messaging middleware such as ActiveMQ.

  • Experience deploying applications on AWS, preferably EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service).

  • Hands-on experience with Jenkins and CI/CD implementation.
