Role Summary
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop and maintain enterprise applications using Java technologies. The ideal candidate should possess strong hands-on experience in backed development, microservices architecture, frontend development and cloud-based deployment environments. This role will closely collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality and scalable software solutions.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test and maintain scalable applications using Java 8/11, and Spring Boot.
- Build and enhance frontend applications using Angular and support backend servies with Node.JS when required.
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices-based applications.
- Perform database design, development, and optimization using Oracle Database.
- Implement caching and distributed computing solutions using Hazelcast.
- Integrate messaging and event-driven systems using ActiveMQ.
- Deploy, monitor and support applications in containerized/cloud environments utilizing AWS EKS.
- Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines through Jenkins and DevOps best practices.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, QA teams, and other developers throughout the SDLC.
Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions.
Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards, security, and performance best practices.
Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical discussions and solution design.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 5-8 years of software development experience.
Experience in Insurance domain will be an added advantage.
Familiarity with regulatory, compliance, security, and risk management requirements within the insurance industry is advantageous.
Strong hands-on experience in Java 8/11 and Spring Boot.
Experience developing REST APIs and microservices architecture.
Proficiency in Angular frontend development.
Experience with Node.js development.
Strong knowledge of Oracle Database, SQL, and performance tuning.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Experience in enterprise-scale application development with Hazelcast caching technologies.
Knowledge of messaging middleware such as ActiveMQ.
Experience deploying applications on AWS, preferably EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service).
Hands-on experience with Jenkins and CI/CD implementation.
