Lead Quality Engineer

Job Summary

Serve as a lead quality engineer driving end to end test strategy automation and quality governance for complex hybrid delivery projects using Jenkins Playwright TypeScript and RestAssured. Collaborate closely with cross functional teams to assure reliable releases optimize test coverage and enhance customer trust preferably within the utilities domain.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute a holistic quality engineering strategy that aligns automated and manual testing to project goals using Jenkins Playwright TypeScript and RestAssured to ensure predictable high quality releases.
• Design and maintain scalable automation frameworks with Playwright and TypeScript that support functional regression and integration testing across web services and user interfaces.
• Develop robust API automation suites using RestAssured that validate contract functional and end to end scenarios while providing fast feedback to developers through continuous integration pipelines.
• Configure manage and optimize Jenkins pipelines that orchestrate build validation automated testing and reporting to reduce cycle time and improve delivery confidence.
• Collaborate with product owners architects and engineers to refine requirements into clear test conditions and scenarios that accurately reflect business workflows and customer expectations.
• Perform detailed root cause analysis of defects and production incidents translating findings into actionable improvements in test coverage coding practices and deployment processes.
• Implement and monitor quality metrics such as defect leakage test coverage and pipeline stability to provide transparent insight into product health and drive continuous improvement actions.
• Coordinate hybrid work collaboration by facilitating regular quality checkpoints virtual reviews and knowledge sharing that keep distributed team members aligned on quality goals.
• Create and maintain test data management strategies that support repeatable reliable execution of automated test suites across multiple environments without sensitive data exposure.
• Support non functional quality efforts by defining test approaches for performance reliability and compatibility while partnering with specialized teams when required.
• Guide peers and junior engineers through code reviews test design discussions and automation best practices to build a strong culture of quality and craftsmanship.
• Engage with stakeholders from the utilities domain when applicable to understand regulatory safety and reliability expectations and reflect them in test strategy and scenarios.
• Document clear test plans execution reports and risk assessments in English that enable transparent communication of quality status to technical and non technical partners in a day shift hybrid model.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate extensive hands on experience of thirteen to fifteen years in quality engineering with a strong emphasis on automation strategies for complex distributed applications.
• Exhibit advanced proficiency in designing and implementing automated tests using Playwright and TypeScript including cross browser and end to end validation of web applications.
• Show strong expertise in creating and maintaining API test suites with RestAssured including validation of response structures error handling and integration workflows.
• Apply deep practical knowledge of Jenkins configuration including pipeline as code job orchestration and integration with version control and test reporting tools.
• Communicate effectively in English through clear reading writing and speaking to collaborate with global stakeholders document artifacts and present quality findings.
• Utilize experience in the utilities domain as a strong advantage by incorporating regulatory safety and reliability requirements into test design and risk assessments.
• Employ sound understanding of software development lifecycles agile methodologies and hybrid work practices to integrate testing activities smoothly into day to day delivery.
• Demonstrate capability to mentor quality engineers in modern automation practices clean code principles and defect prevention techniques while maintaining a hands on technical focus.
