Senior Scrum Master / Agile Coach (Hybrid)
About the role
As a Senior Scrum Master / Agile Coach, you will make an impact by driving Agile delivery excellence, enabling high-performing teams, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement across the organization. You will be a valued member of the Agile delivery team and work collaboratively with Product Owners, engineering teams, business stakeholders, and leadership to deliver business value through Agile ways of working.
In this role, you will:
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives across one or more Agile teams.
- Coach teams, Product Owners, and stakeholders on Agile values, principles, and best practices to improve team effectiveness and Agile maturity.
- Remove impediments, manage risks and dependencies, and help teams deliver high-quality outcomes aligned to business objectives.
- Drive Agile transformation initiatives, promote continuous improvement, and support organizational adoption of Agile frameworks and practices.
- Track and communicate Agile delivery metrics, facilitate stakeholder transparency, and mentor Scrum Masters and team members on Agile delivery excellence.

What you need to have to be considered
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 7+ years of overall professional experience, including 5+ years serving as a Scrum Master, Agile Coach, or related Agile delivery leadership role.
- Proven experience supporting multiple Agile teams and working within scaled Agile environments such as SAFe, LeSS, or Scrum of Scrums.
- Strong expertise in Agile delivery frameworks including Scrum, Kanban, and Agile planning and execution practices.
- Experience using Agile management tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Rally, or similar platforms.
- Excellent facilitation, stakeholder management, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Experience leveraging Agile metrics such as velocity, burndown, cycle time, lead time, and cumulative flow to drive continuous improvement.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams and communicate concepts related to SDLC, DevOps, CI/CD, and modern software delivery practices.

- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), Professional Scrum Master (PSM I/II/III), PMI-ACP, SAFe Scrum Master, or SAFe Agilist certifications.
- Experience leading enterprise-wide Agile transformation initiatives.
- Proven success coaching teams through Agile maturity growth and continuous improvement journeys.
- Experience mentoring Scrum Masters and supporting Agile communities of practice.
- Strong change management, organizational development, and leadership consulting experience.
- Knowledge of Lean, Kaizen, and value-stream optimization principles.
Salary and Other Compensation:
Applications will be accepted until September 17th, 2026.
The annual salary for this position is between $ 81,337 to $141,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
