Senior Angular Developer
Job Summary
Cognizant is seeking a Senior Developer to join our Digital Engineering team in Toronto, ON, Canada. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on experience in Angular, TypeScript, web application development, accessibility, testing, cloud application development, and modern front-end engineering practices. This role will support scalable application delivery while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Roles and Responsibilities
· Lead the development and implementation of scalable web applications using Angular 10+, HTML, CSS, TypeScript, and related technologies.
· Oversee technical architecture and design to ensure alignment with business objectives.
· Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members to support skill development and knowledge sharing.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
· Ensure code quality and maintainability through code reviews and engineering best practices.
· Optimize application performance and troubleshoot issues to deliver high-quality solutions.
· Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance development processes and tools.
· Coordinate with stakeholders to support timely delivery of project milestones and objectives.
· Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
Required Qualifications
· 5+ years of experience with Angular 18+.
· Hands-on experience with TypeScript, state management, accessibility, and unit testing.
· Experience with testing tools such as Jest, Cypress, Protractor, JUnit, Mockito, or similar tools.
· Ability to conduct accessibility testing to ensure compliance with industry standards and guidelines.
· Basic understanding of security vulnerabilities such as XSS and prototype pollution.
· Knowledge of distributed cloud application development using platforms or tools such as Pivotal Cloud Foundry, OpenShift, and Docker.
· Hands-on experience designing, developing, testing, and troubleshooting RESTful APIs and interface specifications such as Swagger, RAML, and SOAP.
· Knowledge of security gateways and protocols including JWT, OAuth 2.0, and SSL certificates.
· Full software development life cycle experience with CI/CD and thorough testing prior to release.
· Ability to implement micro-frontend architecture principles to enhance modularity and scalability.
· Experience optimizing application performance through efficient asset bundling with Webpack.
· Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Work Model
This role follows a hybrid work model in Toronto, ON, Canada, or as per the current client mandate.

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $60K – $95K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
