About the role
As an Application Support Engineer, you will make an impact by ensuring the stability, performance, and continuous improvement of enterprise applications. You will be a valued member of the technology team, collaborating with business stakeholders, development teams, and cross-functional partners to resolve critical production issues, drive operational excellence, and deliver application enhancements.
In this role, you will:
· Provide Level 3 production support by troubleshooting complex issues, restoring service, and conducting root cause analysis (RCA).
· Monitor and optimize application performance using tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, and ELK.
· Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications leveraging modern architecture patterns, including microservices, APIs, and integration layers.
· Automate operational and support processes to improve efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
· Collaborate with business and cross-functional teams to gather requirements, deliver enhancements, and support releases across Development, QA, UAT, and Production environments.

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Mississauga, Ontario. · What you need to have to be considered
· Bachelor's degree in Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
· Experience providing L3 production support for enterprise applications.
· Strong troubleshooting, incident management, and root cause analysis skills.
· Hands-on experience with application monitoring and performance management tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, and ELK.
· Experience supporting application development, deployment, and maintenance across multiple environments.
This will help you stand out
· Experience with modern application architectures, including microservices and API-based solutions.
· Exposure to automation and process optimization initiatives.
· Strong collaboration and communication skills with business and technical stakeholders.
· Experience working in Agile or DevOps environments.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production support environment.
Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $85,950 to $136,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
