Job Summary
The Technical Lead will guide complex Workday HCM benefits solutions for a global enterprise environment applying deep expertise in benefits domain concepts to design configure and optimize robust platforms that enhance workforce experiences and operational accuracy while collaborating in a hybrid work model to deliver reliable scalable and compliant HR technology outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Drive end to end design and configuration of Workday HCM benefits modules to ensure accurate eligibility rules plans and events that support consistent and compliant benefits administration for a diverse workforce
- Coordinate technical analysis of benefits domain requirements by translating business needs into well structured Workday configurations that improve efficiency and reduce manual interventions
- Implement enhancements in Workday HCM benefits processes by optimizing enrollment flows life event handling and calculation logic to deliver a seamless experience for internal stakeholders and employees
- Monitor daily Workday HCM benefits operations by reviewing integrations audits and dashboards to proactively identify anomalies and resolve issues before they impact payroll or employee records
- Collaborate with cross functional stakeholders in HR payroll and shared services to refine benefits processes in Workday ensuring alignment with company policies and high quality employee service
- Develop detailed configuration documentation test cases and run books that describe Workday HCM benefits solutions to support knowledge sharing maintainability and effective handover across teams
- Execute system testing regression testing and user acceptance support for Workday benefits releases to validate functional accuracy and minimize production defects during planned deployments
- Provide advanced production support for Workday HCM benefits incidents by analyzing root causes recommending sustainable fixes and educating stakeholders on optimal system usage
- Optimize Workday HCM reporting and analytics related to benefits by designing calculated fields custom reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights for HR and finance partners
- Align Workday HCM benefits configurations with finance and accounting practices where relevant by validating posting impacts cost allocations and reconciliations to support accurate financial reporting
- Contribute to online self service benefits capabilities by refining Workday employee and manager self service flows that enable intuitive digital interactions and reduce reliance on manual support channels
- Coordinate with Workday release notes and feature updates to evaluate new benefits capabilities and recommend adoption strategies that enhance system value while controlling risk
- Mentor junior team members on Workday HCM benefits concepts by sharing configuration patterns troubleshooting approaches and best practices to uplift overall team capability and delivery quality
Qualifications
- Exhibit strong experience in Workday HCM benefits configuration including plans programs eligibility rules life events and integrations gained over six to eight years of progressive roles in HR technology
- Demonstrate advanced understanding of benefits domain concepts such as health plans retirement programs leave policies and compliance obligations to ensure configurations reflect regulatory and policy needs
- Apply working knowledge of finance and accounting principles when designing Workday benefits solutions where applicable to support accurate downstream financial processing and reconciliation activities
- Utilize familiarity with online self service patterns digital workflows and employee portal practices to shape intuitive Workday benefits experiences that encourage adoption and reduce support tickets
- Operate effectively within a hybrid work model by communicating clearly through virtual and in person channels while coordinating with global stakeholders across time zones during day shift operations
- Display strong problem solving and debugging skills in Workday HCM by analyzing logs configuration objects and integration flows to rapidly identify issues and implement stable resolutions
- Leverage experience with software development lifecycle practices including requirement analysis configuration testing defect management and change control to deliver reliable Workday HCM enhancements
- Pursue continuous learning on Workday HCM and benefits domain changes by attending training reading product updates and engaging in community resources to keep solutions aligned with leading practices
- Balance technical depth with stakeholder communication by explaining complex Workday HCM benefits configurations in clear business focused language that supports informed decision making and adoption
