Senior Android Developer - Remote

In this role, you will:
- Design and implement scalable native Android applications using Kotlin and Android SDK to deliver secure and intuitive mobile experiences that align with enterprise quality standards and user expectations.
- Architect modular mobile app components that promote reuse and maintainability by applying established design patterns and Android Jetpack libraries to support long term product evolution.
- Develop responsive user interface flows and interaction patterns optimized for diverse Android devices by using modern layout techniques and navigation components to enhance overall accessibility and usability.
- Optimize application performance by analyzing memory usage startup time and network calls to ensure smooth interactions and reliable behavior across varying connectivity conditions and device profiles.
- Integrate networking libraries and implement robust data access layers to manage API communication error handling and data caching while safeguarding user information through secure practices.
- Create comprehensive unit and integration tests with Mockito and related testing frameworks to validate business logic reduce regression defects and strengthen confidence in frequent application releases.
- Review and refactor existing codebases to remove technical debt enforce consistent design patterns and improve readability which accelerates onboarding and supports sustainable feature delivery.
- Collaborate with product and design teams in a hybrid work model to translate requirements into detailed mobile solutions while providing clear technical input that balances feasibility and user value.
- Use Git for version control to manage branches pull requests and code reviews ensuring reliable collaboration traceability of changes and stable integration of new features into shared repositories.

What you need to have to be considered:
- 8+ years in Android Mobile application development
- Able to design and build advanced native Android applications and mobile architectures using Kotlin and modern patterns, while guiding peers on robust app structure and quality.
- The role focuses on scalable mobile solutions, clean design, and maintainable code that support hybrid work, enhance user experience, and deliver secure, reliable services to global customers.
Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $68K – 130K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
