This role focuses on designing and administering robust Oracle based data platforms that securely store and process enterprise information for an energy focused multinational organization. The professional will architect scalable Oracle database solutions optimize performance and enforce stringent security controls to support fuel management energy supply and trading analytics working primarily from office during day shifts.

In this role, you will:
- Design and architect scalable Oracle based data platforms that reliably support complex analytics and transactional workloads across global business units in the energy sector
- Develop comprehensive Oracle database models and schemas that ensure data consistency integrity and optimal query performance for fuel management and trading operations
- Implement robust Oracle database administration practices that include capacity planning performance tuning and proactive monitoring to maintain high system availability
- Configure and manage Oracle database security administration controls that protect sensitive operational and trading data while meeting internal policies and external regulatory expectations
- Optimize Oracle database architecture and cloud service configurations to improve query throughput reduce resource consumption and support evolving data engineering use cases
- Collaborate with data engineers data scientists and application teams to translate analytical and transactional requirements into efficient Oracle data structures and processing workflows
- Establish and maintain backup recovery and disaster readiness strategies for Oracle environments to safeguard critical energy supply and trading data assets
- Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for Oracle database configurations standards and procedures to enable consistent operations across office based teams
- Coordinate with infrastructure and cloud service teams to ensure Oracle database cloud service deployments meet reliability security and performance objectives for day shift operations
- Analyze existing data pipelines and storage patterns to identify opportunities for Oracle based optimization that reduce processing time and improve reporting accuracy
- Guide stakeholders on data governance and quality practices that leverage Oracle capabilities to deliver trusted information for fuel management and energy supply decisions
- Support deployment activities and production incident resolution related to Oracle databases while maintaining a no travel work model and predictable office based schedules
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance Oracle database architecture security controls and administrative automation to strengthen organizational resilience and societal impact through reliable energy data
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Possess extensive experience in Oracle database technology and concepts with a deep understanding of relational structures indexing strategies and query optimization techniques
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in Oracle database security administration including role design access control encryption practices and auditing configurations for sensitive data
- Show advanced capability in managing Oracle database cloud service implementations covering provisioning resource configuration and integration with enterprise data platforms
- Exhibit thorough knowledge of Oracle database architecture including instance components memory structures storage organization and high availability mechanisms
- Bring proven expertise in Oracle database administration activities such as installation patching performance diagnostics and routine maintenance within large scale environments
- Preferably have domain exposure to fuel management energy supply and trading processes enabling more contextual design of data models and reporting solutions
- Display solid skills in SQL development and data engineering practices that support pipeline creation data transformation and integration between Oracle systems and analytics platforms
- Operate comfortably in a work from office model during day shifts demonstrating reliable collaboration habits and effective communication with cross functional teams
- Apply structured problem solving abilities and analytical thinking to evaluate complex data issues and propose Oracle focused remediation approaches that enhance business outcomes
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
