Senior Dev – Java, Python & Microservices
Cognizant’s Digital Engineering practice is seeking a highly qualified Senior Dev– Java, Python & Microservices (Hybrid) with 8+ year of experience developing and building high-performing, scalable, enterprise applications. Responsibilities:
Core Backend Engineering:
•Strong experience in Java and Python development
•Expertise in building scalable microservices and REST APIs
•Knowledge of distributed systems and enterprise architecture patterns
AI / LLM Integration:
•Experience integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) into backend services
•Proficiency in prompt engineering, inference optimization, and response quality tuning
•Understanding of responsible AI practices and model governance
Payments & Domain Expertise:
•Familiarity with digital payments, cards, or financial services workflows
•Experience enhancing customer journeys and transaction processes using AI
Security & Compliance:
•Strong understanding of secure coding practices and data protection
•Experience with regulatory compliance and risk-aware system design
DevOps & Quality Engineering:
•Experience with CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and hybrid environments
•Strong knowledge of testing strategies (unit, integration, non-functional)
•Familiarity with observability, monitoring, and performance tuning
Collaboration & Leadership:
•Ability to work effectively in a hybrid and cross-functional environment
•Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
•Experience mentoring teams and promoting engineering best practices

· Focuses on designing and implementing secure, scalable enterprise solutions
· Involves integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) with Java and Python-based services
· Requires 8+ years of total experience

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $ 81,337 $ to 163,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
