About the role
We are seeking a motivated Software Engineer with experience in .NET and cloud technologies to join our team in Louisville, KY. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining applications, resolving complex technical issues, and supporting scalable solutions in a dynamic environment.
In this role, you will:
· Develop software applications based on business and technical requirements
· Analyze and troubleshoot complex software issues, providing effective solutions and recommendations
· Enhance existing applications to improve performance, scalability, and reliability
· Work with Kafka for event-driven architecture and data streaming solutions
· Provision and manage infrastructure using Terraform
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions
· Follow established development standards, guidelines, and best practices
· Make decisions on work methods in moderately complex or ambiguous situations with minimal supervision
· Support deployment and cloud-based application operations in Azure environments
Work model:

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Louisville, KY. What you need to have to be considered
· Strong experience in .NET development (C#)
· Hands-on experience with Azure Cloud services
· Working knowledge of Kafka for messaging/streaming
· Experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
· Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
· Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and best practices
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
This will help you stand out
· Experience working in cloud-native or distributed systems environments
· Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
· Effective communication and collaboration skills
· Experience in enterprise-scale application development
Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $68,442 to $114,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
