We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst with strong expertise in Banking Products, Product Design, Agile delivery methodologies, and Mainframe technologies. The ideal candidate will act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams, driving requirement discovery, product enhancement, and delivery of innovative banking solutions. The role requires hands-on experience in managing the complete requirements lifecycle while supporting business-critical applications built on COBOL, JCL, VSAM, and SYNCSORT platforms. Insights from internal banking and business analyst role documents highlight the importance of requirements traceability, stakeholder management, agile delivery, and banking product knowledge.
In this role, you will:
· Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyse, and document functional and non-functional requirements.
· Drive product design activities and translate business needs into user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
· Manage the complete requirements lifecycle, including elicitation, validation, prioritisation, traceability, and change management.
· Work closely with Product Owners, Developers, QA teams, and business users throughout the SDLC.
· Facilitate Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Reviews, and Retrospectives.
· Maintain and prioritise product backlogs using Scrum and Kanban frameworks.
· Analyse and support banking applications built on Mainframe technologies including COBOL, JCL, VSAM, and SYNCSORT.

What you need to have to be considered
· 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Business Systems Analyst.
· Strong knowledge of Retail Banking, Commercial Banking, Lending, Deposits, Payments, or related banking products.
· Proven experience in Product Design and Requirement Lifecycle Management.
· Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.
· Experience creating user stories, epics, process flows, use cases, and acceptance criteria.
· Hands-on exposure to Mainframe technologies including COBOL, JCL, VSAM, and SYNCSORT.
Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $ 65447 to $ 117,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
