Sales Operations Specialist (Remote)
This is a remote position open to any qualified applicant in the United States.
The Sales Operations Specialist is a strategic partner to the sales organization, responsible for the systems, processes, and data infrastructure that enable the team to sell effectively. This role sits at the intersection of sales, operations, and technology — owning reporting and analytics, CRM integrity, SOP governance, and the continuous improvement of the workflows that drive revenue.
Key Responsibilities
• Serve as the operational backbone of the sales team — owning data integrity, CRM hygiene, and the systems and tools that keep the revenue pipeline running smoothly.
• Process and close signed contracts in Salesforce; partner with Operations to communicate net-new business and upsells, ensuring a seamless handoff to the implementation team.
• Design, build, and maintain sales performance reporting and dashboards — delivering actionable insights on pipeline health, quota attainment, and key revenue metrics.
• Manage and govern the SOP repository, ensuring all documentation is current, version-controlled, and accessible; proactively communicate procedural changes to relevant stakeholders.
• Adapt to and operationalize evolving business processes, translating strategy and leadership direction into updated, clearly documented procedures.
• Identify referenceable client accounts upon request to support active sales cycles and go-to-market initiatives.
• Own daily and recurring reporting assignments with consistency and accuracy; surface trends, anomalies, and risks to sales leadership proactively.
• Maintain an organized, structured filing and records system for all sales operations documentation.
Process Improvement & Automation
A core expectation of this role is an active focus on making the sales org more efficient over time:
• Continuously audit existing workflows for inefficiencies, manual bottlenecks, and redundancies — proposing and implementing targeted, scalable solutions.
• Develop and refine Excel-based tools, templates, and dashboards (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, Power Query, macros) that reduce manual effort and accelerate reporting cycles.
• Leverage automation capabilities within Salesforce, Excel, and adjacent platforms (e.g., Power Automate, workflow rules, scheduled reports) to eliminate repetitive tasks and free up capacity.
• Partner with Sales, Operations, and IT to scope, document, and roll out process improvements; ensure changes are adopted effectively and reflected in updated SOPs.
• Track and report the measurable impact of operational improvements to sales leadership.
Requirements
• 3+ years of experience in Sales Operations, Revenue Operations, or a closely related field.
• Deep understanding of sales processes, pipeline management, and CRM best practices.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills; able to translate data into clear, actionable recommendations.
• Experience owning and managing SOPs — creating, maintaining, versioning, and communicating procedural documentation across teams.
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities and adapt quickly in a fast-moving, evolving environment.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel: pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, dynamic charts, Power Query, and macro development.
• Demonstrated track record of identifying process gaps and driving operational improvements with measurable outcomes.
• Familiarity with automation tools or a strong appetite to learn (e.g., Excel macros, Salesforce workflows, Power Automate).
• Experience with project management tools and cross-functional collaboration.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; able to present findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Salesforce experience strongly preferred; admin-level knowledge a plus.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $50,000-$55,000 depending on experience and other
qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and
subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
