The role focuses on scalable frameworks continuous testing practices and measurable quality outcomes for complex distributed systems in an airline aligned environment.
Responsibilities
- Design automation strategies that validate complex Spring Boot and Java services to achieve reliable and repeatable quality outcomes across hybrid delivery environments.
- Develop scalable test automation frameworks that integrate with existing Java ecosystems to ensure maintainable and extensible quality solutions for critical business services.
- Implement robust test suites that cover functional regression integration performance and reliability scenarios to minimize production defects and service disruptions.
- Coordinate with cross functional teams to refine requirements and acceptance criteria to ensure clear testability and measurable quality goals for all deliverables.
- Create detailed test design documents that map business scenarios to automated coverage to provide transparent traceability and risk based quality assurance.
- Optimize continuous integration workflows by embedding automated quality gates to improve feedback cycles and enhance confidence in each release.
- Review automation code contributions from peers to uphold secure efficient and maintainable coding practices within the test engineering codebase.
- Mentor team members in advanced Java and Spring Boot focused automation techniques to uplift overall test craftsmanship and accelerate delivery value.
- Analyze production incidents and quality trends to identify root causes and to define preventive automation and process improvements.
- Design service virtualization and mock strategies that allow stable testing of dependent airline domain services without impacting upstream or downstream systems.
- Collaborate with performance engineering and reliability teams to ensure non functional quality checks are embedded into automated pipelines.
- Document clear test strategies standards and reusable patterns so that distributed teams can consistently apply robust SDET practices in day to day work.
- Ensure hybrid work model effectiveness by enabling remote friendly tools workflows and knowledge sharing so that distributed teams can maintain consistent quality.
- Drive risk based testing approaches that focus automation on high value airline domain journeys such as booking ticket changes and ancillary service flows.
- Coordinate defect triage processes that ensure timely prioritization resolution and verification of issues discovered by automated and exploratory testing.
- Partner with product and architecture groups to influence design decisions that improve testability observability and long term system resilience.
- Integrate service level checks and contract tests that continuously validate interactions between microservices to reduce integration failures in downstream environments.
- Design data management strategies that include synthetic test data generation and masking approaches to support secure and repeatable automation runs.
- Implement quality metrics dashboards that provide transparent visibility into coverage defect trends and pipeline stability to stakeholders.
- Engage with airline domain experts to translate operational scenarios into realistic automated test journeys that improve customer and traveler experiences.
- Align automation practices with enterprise security standards by embedding checks that validate secure coding and configuration principles.
Qualifications
- possess extensive experience in designing and implementing Java and Spring Boot based automation frameworks for complex enterprise systems.
- demonstrate strong proficiency in writing clean modular and reusable automation code using core Java test libraries and supporting utilities.
- exhibit hands on expertise with test frameworks such as JUnit and TestNG and with build tools that orchestrate automated test execution at scale.
- show practical knowledge of API testing concepts including request validation response verification and contract stability within microservice architectures.
- display experience working in Agile and DevOps oriented environments where continuous integration and continuous testing practices are standard.
- bring exposure to airline or travel domain processes where reliability and customer centric quality expectations are particularly high.
- apply strong analytical and problem solving skills to diagnose automation failures and systemic quality issues under time sensitive conditions.
