About the Role

As an NCR POS Subject Matter Expert, you will make an impact by supporting and optimizing point-of-sale, payment, and fuel systems for large-scale retail operations. You will be a valued member of the Retail Technology Support team and work collaboratively with service desk teams, infrastructure teams, vendor partners, and business stakeholders to ensure system stability, rapid issue resolution, and continuous service improvement. This role combines retail POS expertise, incident management, troubleshooting, and automation capabilities to drive operational excellence.

In This Role, You Will:

• Provide advanced support for NCR point-of-sale platforms, including Retalix R10, Radiant, CX7, and 770x environments, ensuring high availability and operational performance.
• Troubleshoot complex POS, payment, and fuel system issues by analyzing application logs, system logs, and event data to identify root causes and drive resolution.
• Support fuel and forecourt systems, including site controllers, fuel dispensers, price book management, and integration with retail technology platforms.
• Own incident, problem, and backlog management activities, collaborating with internal teams and vendors to deliver timely resolutions and permanent fixes.
• Develop and support automation and self-healing solutions to improve operational efficiency and reduce recurring incidents.

What You Need to Have to Be Considered

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong hands-on experience supporting NCR POS platforms, including Retalix R10, Radiant, CX7, and 770x environments.
• Experience supporting retail payment systems and fuel/forecourt technologies, including site controllers and fuel dispenser integrations.
• Proven expertise in troubleshooting and log analysis using POS logs, Fuel PC logs, Windows Event Viewer, and related diagnostic tools.
• Experience with ITIL-based incident, problem, and service management processes.
• Experience working with ticketing and workflow management tools such as ServiceNow and Jira.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across support, engineering, vendor, and business teams.
• Ability to manage escalations, prioritize incidents, and drive issues through resolution.

These Will Help You Stand Out

• Experience working directly with POS and payment technology vendors, including NCR and Verifone.
• Knowledge of retail pricing, price book management, and fuel pricing integration platforms.
• Experience developing scripts or automation solutions using PowerShell, Python, RPA tools, or similar technologies.
• Understanding of root cause analysis methodologies and continuous service improvement practices.
• Experience supporting large-scale retail environments with distributed store technology systems.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools, operational dashboards, and proactive support models.
• Experience implementing self-healing or Level 0/Level 1 automation solutions to improve support efficiency.

Salary and Other Compensation:

Applications will be accepted until October 15, 2026.

The annual salary for this position is between $88,000 - $145,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
