Senior Automation Tester - Playwright

00068747431

We are looking for a Senior QE Engineer to join our QEA team in a permanent role. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining automated test scripts using Playwright. You'll embed within cross-functional teams to shape testing strategy, build robust automation frameworks, and leverage AI-powered tools to accelerate delivery quality.

In this role, you will

  • Design and maintain end-to-end UI test frameworks using Playwright with JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Build and validate RESTful API test suites using Cucumber JS, HTTP requests, and tools like Postman or SoapUI.
  • Replicate UI flows on the REST layer using a Python-based framework to validate backend functionality.
  • Actively use GitHub Copilot and Devin to generate, optimize, and review automation scripts — accelerating coverage and reducing manual effort.
  • Author and maintain Devin Playbooks tailored specifically for Test Automation Developers and QE Engineers — covering script generation, framework scaffolding, test data setup, and common automation patterns.
  • Optimize and validate Devin-generated output — reviewing AI-produced scripts for correctness, maintainability, and alignment with team standards before integration.
  • Integrate and execute regression suites via Selenium Grid and Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.
  • Contribute to backlog grooming, sprint planning, and test strategy aligned with acceptance criteria.
  • Track defects, collaborate closely with developers on fixes, and drive quality throughout the SDLC.
  • Mentor junior automation engineers on both traditional and AI-augmented QE workflows.

Required skills

  • Overall 7-10 years of QA automation experience.
  • Must have 3+ years in test automation with deep expertise in Playwright (JS/TypeScript).
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python; strong in Node.js-based automation pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience with GitHub Copilot and Devin for AI-assisted automation script development.
  • Demonstrated ability to create Devin Playbooks tailored for QE and test automation use cases — enabling repeatable, scalable AI-driven workflows across the team.
  • Skilled in evaluating and refining Devin output — ensuring generated code meets quality, coverage, and maintainability standards.
  • Proven ability to build frameworks from scratch using BDD (Cucumber) and TDD approaches.
  • Solid grasp of CI/CD (Jenkins), Git, and collaborative dev workflows.
  • Working knowledge of SQL/NoSQL for data validation and backend testing.
  • Experienced in Agile/Scrum, JIRA, and cross-functional collaboration.

Preferred skills

  • Experience with Insurance domain.

  • Experience with test frameworks such as JUnit, TestNG, Mocha, Jest, or PyTest.

We're eager to meet people who share our mission and can make an impact in various ways. Don't hesitate to apply, even if you only meet the required skills listed. Your transferable skills and experiences matter—help us see how you the right person for this role.
