SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test)
Job Summary:
We are seeking an SDET with strong experience in both manual and automated testing of Windows desktop applications, web applications, and APIs. The ideal candidate will have expertise in C#, test automation frameworks, .NET application testing, and white-box testing methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases.
- Build and maintain test automation frameworks using C# and Microsoft UI Automation (UIA).
- Perform functional, system, integration, and API testing.
- Define test strategies, test plans, and quality assurance processes.
- Debug and troubleshoot .NET applications to identify and isolate defects.
- Collaborate with development, product management, and cross-functional teams.
- Mentor junior QA engineers and promote quality best practices.
Required Skills:
- 4+ years of experience in Software Testing/SDET roles.
- Strong programming skills in C#.
- Experience with UI Automation (UIA), CodedUI, and Visual Studio.
- Expertise in testing Windows Desktop Applications, Web Applications, and APIs.
- Hands-on experience building test frameworks and test harnesses.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills for .NET applications.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, or TFVC.
- Knowledge of Agile/SAFe development methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Compensation: - Base Salary $100 K to $130 K + COLA and this position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans. Application will be accepted by 9/18/2026
