Service Manager (Java & Spring)
We are seeking an experienced Service Manager to oversee the stability, performance, and continuous improvement of critical enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in IT Service Management, Java, Spring, PL/SQL, and production support, with a proven ability to manage service delivery, resolve complex issues, and drive operational excellence.

In this role, you will:
- Lead end-to-end service management for business-critical applications built on Java and Spring technologies.
- Ensure application stability, performance, and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
- Drive Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes to maintain operational excellence.
- Coordinate resolution of complex production issues and lead root cause analysis efforts.
- Partner with development, architecture, and operations teams to improve platform reliability and performance.
- Monitor service metrics and provide regular reporting on operational health and improvement initiatives.
- Support release and deployment activities, ensuring smooth transitions into production.
- Drive automation and operational efficiencies through scripting and process improvements.
- Maintain service documentation, runbooks, and support procedures.
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to align service delivery with organizational goals.

What you need to have to be considered:
- 8+ years of experience in Application Support, Service Management, or IT Operations.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java (Core Java/Java 11) and Spring Framework.
- Experience supporting enterprise applications in production environments.
- Strong knowledge of PL/SQL, database troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- Experience with Shell Scripting for automation and operational support.
- Proven experience in Incident Management, Problem Management, and Change Management.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
- Experience managing service performance and working with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Nice to Have
- ITIL Certification.
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise platforms.
- Exposure to monitoring, automation, and DevOps tools.
- Experience working within hybrid or distributed teams.
Salary and Other Compensation
The annual salary for this position is between $63,000 - $99,500, depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
