About the Role
As a Senior Scrum Master, you will make an impact by leading Agile delivery teams, driving continuous improvement, and helping organizations maximize the value of Agile practices. You will be a valued member of the delivery team and work collaboratively with Product Owners, engineering teams, leadership stakeholders, and cross-functional business partners to deliver high-quality outcomes.

In This Role, You Will:
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives across one or more Scrum teams.
- Coach teams, Product Owners, and stakeholders on Agile values, principles, and best practices to improve team effectiveness and delivery outcomes.
- Remove impediments, manage dependencies, and enable teams to achieve sprint commitments and business objectives.
- Drive Agile transformation initiatives and foster a culture of continuous improvement across teams and departments.
- Measure and communicate Agile delivery metrics, including team velocity, sprint progress, cycle time, and release readiness.
- Partner with leadership to identify and resolve organizational challenges impacting team performance and delivery.
- Support release planning, roadmap alignment, and coordination across multiple Agile teams and programs.
- Mentor Scrum Masters and promote scalable Agile practices within the organization.
Work Model

What You Need to Have to Be Considered
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 7+ years of overall professional experience, including 5+ years serving as a Scrum Master, Agile Coach, or similar Agile leadership role.
- Proven experience facilitating Agile delivery across multiple teams and managing complex cross-team dependencies.
- Strong knowledge of Agile frameworks including Scrum, Kanban, and scaled Agile methodologies such as SAFe, LeSS, or Scrum of Scrums.
- Demonstrated success coaching teams through Agile maturity growth and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience working within software development and delivery environments, including SDLC practices and technical project execution.
- Expertise with Agile management tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Rally, or similar platforms.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to analyze and leverage Agile metrics to drive informed decision-making and delivery excellence.
These Will Help You Stand Out
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), PMI-ACP, SAFe Scrum Master, or SAFe Agilist certification.
- Experience leading enterprise-wide Agile transformation initiatives.
- Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software engineering practices.
- Experience mentoring Scrum Masters, Agile Coaches, or delivery leaders.
- Background in organizational change management and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience working in highly regulated, enterprise, or large-scale technology environments.
Salary and Other Compensation
The annual salary for this position depends on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
