About the Role
As a Senior Java Developer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and delivering scalable cloud-based applications and analytics solutions that support high-volume business operations. You will be a valued member of the engineering team and work collaboratively with technical leads, product managers, architects, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions.
In This Role, You Will:
- Design, develop, and implement scalable Java-based applications and analytics solutions deployed on cloud platforms.
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to analyze requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
- Develop high-quality code using industry best practices, create unit tests, and meet established code coverage standards.
- Support application deployment, testing, production releases, and ongoing operational stability.
- Design and implement monitoring, observability, and performance optimization solutions aligned with client standards.
- Document application architecture, technical designs, and service specifications while providing guidance to development teams.
Work Model

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 2-3 days per week in a client or Cognizant office in Sunnyvale, California or Bentonville, Arkansas. What You Need to Have to Be Considered
- 8+ years of experience developing enterprise applications using Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and Spring Data JPA.
- Hands-on experience working with cloud platforms such as Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, or similar technologies.
- Strong experience with Kafka or other enterprise messaging and event-streaming platforms.
- Experience designing and building large-scale, high-volume, distributed applications.
- Strong understanding of Agile software development methodologies and Scrum practices.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and deployment technologies such as Kubernetes.
- Ability to lead technical discussions and collaborate effectively with business and engineering stakeholders.
- Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

- Experience delivering cloud-native analytics or data-driven applications.
- Hands-on experience with Azure services and cloud modernization initiatives.
- Knowledge of application monitoring, observability, and production support best practices.
- Experience working within complex enterprise environments serving large customer bases.

Salary and Other Compensation
Applications will be accepted until September 25th, 2026.
The annual salary for this position is between $46,000 and $93,500, depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
