Job Summary
Architect role in a multinational organization focusing on enterprise data analytics and business intelligence solutions using Power BI IBM Cognos Azure SQL and Microsoft Fabric. Data Analyst who has a strong understanding of the insurance industry enterprise data Guidewire and reporting ecosystems. This role will serve as the key liaison customer BI/Business and the Cognizant BI Flex translating business requirements and strategic objectives into actionable development deliverables
Responsibilities
- Design scalable enterprise reporting architectures that integrate Power BI platforms IBM Cognos solutions Azure SQL data stores and insurance systems to deliver reliable analytics for business stakeholders in a hybrid work environment.
- Develop comprehensive data models in Power BI that align with insurance product structures customer journeys and operational processes ensuring accurate measures dimensions and relationships for decision support.
- Collaborate with insurance technology teams to define integration patterns between Guidewire applications and analytical platforms so that claims underwriting and policy data is consistently available for reporting and advanced analysis.
- Optimize Azure SQL schemas queries and stored logic to support high performance dashboards and reports while maintaining data quality consistency and secure access across distributed teams.
- Architect Microsoft Fabric Power BI based solutions that streamline data ingestion transformation and visualization workflows providing reusable components and governance for analytics projects.
- Provide guidance to business users and analysts on best practices for Power BI report builder usage including layout standards performance tuning and accessibility that improve adoption and insight consumption.
- Coordinate with data analysts and subject matter experts to translate insurance business requirements into technical specifications that drive effective metric definitions scorecards and operational reports.
- Establish robust data governance and documentation for analytical assets covering lineage business definitions and usage guidelines to ensure trust in insights across underwriting claims and finance communities.
- Drive continuous improvement of reporting platforms by analyzing usage patterns feedback and incident trends then implementing enhancements that reduce manual effort and accelerate delivery cycles.
- Ensure security and compliance alignment for analytics solutions by configuring role based access encryption practices and audit trails that protect sensitive insurance data and support regulatory expectations.
- Oversee migration and consolidation of legacy reports into modern Power BI and IBM Cognos frameworks reducing redundancy and enabling consistent enterprise wide analytics strategies.
- Coordinate cross functional collaboration in a hybrid work setting by scheduling structured design sessions walkthroughs and review ceremonies that keep distributed teams aligned on architecture and delivery milestones.
- Monitor system performance data refresh pipelines and report reliability proactively identifying bottlenecks and implementing corrective actions that maintain high availability for day shift operations.
Qualifications
- Demonstrate extensive experience in IBM Cognos configuration report development and platform optimization within complex enterprise environments.
- Apply strong expertise in MS Power BI including data modelling DAX design of interactive dashboards and use of Power BI report builder for operational reporting scenarios.
- Utilize advanced skills in Azure SQL for schema design query tuning and integration with analytical tools ensuring robust and efficient data foundations for reporting.
- Show proficiency in Microsoft Fabric Power BI capabilities for orchestrating data workflows governance and deployment of scalable analytics solutions.
- Bring proven data analyst experience with emphasis on requirement gathering profiling validation and translation of business needs into structured analytical deliverables.
- Leverage solid understanding of data modelling techniques for Power BI to create star schemas hierarchies and calculated logic that support accurate and performant analytics.
- Benefit from experience with insurance Guidewire systems where familiarity with policy billing and claims data structures supports more meaningful reporting solutions for property and casualty usage.
Certifications Required
Preferred certifications include IBM Cognos Analytics certification and Microsoft Certified Data Analyst Associate for Power BI and Azure data solutions.
