About the role
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will make an impact by designing, automating, and optimizing cloud infrastructure and CI/CD processes that enable secure, scalable, and reliable software delivery. You will collaborate closely with development, quality engineering, operations, and business teams to drive automation, improve deployment efficiency, and support modern cloud-based solutions.
In this role, you will:
• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate code integration, testing, and deployment.
• Implement and manage cloud infrastructure solutions utilizing AWS and Azure technologies.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform.
• Partner with development, QA, and operations teams to streamline release processes and improve deployment reliability.
• Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot application deployments and cloud environments to ensure performance, scalability, and availability.
• Drive automation initiatives that improve system reliability, efficiency, and time-to-market.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement DevOps best practices.
Work model
We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role's business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 2-3 days per week in a Cognizant or client office in New York, NY.

Required Qualifications
• 8+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or related disciplines.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure cloud platforms.
• Proven experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
• Experience working collaboratively across development, QA, and operations teams.
• Strong troubleshooting, automation, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience implementing security best practices across CI/CD pipelines and cloud environments.
• Scripting experience with Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale cloud environments.
• AWS and/or Azure certifications.

Salary and Other Compensation
Applications will be accepted until September 25, 2026.
The annual salary for this position is between $65,000 - $115,000 depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
