About the role
As a Java Applications Lead Architect, you will make an impact by designing, leading, and delivering scalable Java- and Spring-based solutions that support product content and information management initiatives. You will be a valued member of the Technology Architecture team and work collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders, including product, engineering, and business teams, to align technical solutions with business objectives.
In this role, you will:
Lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance applications using Java and the Spring Framework.
Define and govern application architecture leveraging Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring MVC, and Spring Integration.
Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and code reviews to ensure high-quality engineering standards.
Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into clear technical solutions.
Ensure system reliability, security, performance optimization, and alignment with industry best practices.
Work model: Hybrid work schedule for Menomonee Falls, WI - 3 days onsite, 2 days remote
What you need to have to be considered
Deep expertise in Java and the Spring Framework, including Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring MVC, and Spring Core.
Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale, distributed applications.
Strong architecture and problem-solving skills with the ability to align technology solutions to business goals.
Demonstrated experience leading development teams and driving technical decision-making.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a hybrid work environment.
These will help you stand out
Experience with product content and information management platforms or domains.
Hands-on experience with cloud-native architectures and microservices.
Exposure to DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and modern development methodologies.
Experience facilitating technical workshops or training sessions.
Proactive mindset toward adopting emerging technologies and best practices.

Salary and Other Compensation
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
