Job Summary:
We are looking for a QA Automation Engineer with strong expertise in Playwright test automation to drive quality assurance across a modern, AI-enabled digital commerce platform. The role will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable automated test frameworks covering end-to-end customer journeys, API integrations, and AI-powered capabilities. Working closely with engineering, product, and DevOps teams, the successful candidate will ensure high levels of software quality through automated functional, regression, performance, and validation testing.
Responsibilities :
- Design, build, and maintain end-to-end automated test suites using Playwright (TypeScript) covering core commerce journeys — product discovery, search, cart, checkout, order management, and payment flows.
- Develop test strategies for AI-powered features (conversational assistants, personalized recommendations, semantic search), including approaches for non-deterministic outputs, response quality validation, and regression detection.
- Build and maintain API-level test automation (REST/GraphQL) validating contracts between frontend, backend microservices, and AI services (Azure OpenAI/Azure AI Foundry endpoints).
- Implement cross-browser and cross-device test coverage (desktop, mobile web) using Playwright's multi-browser capabilities, integrated into visual regression testing where relevant.
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions), enabling shift-left testing, parallel execution, and fast feedback on every build/deployment.
- Design and execute performance and load testing for peak retail scenarios (flash sales, seasonal promotions) using tools such as k6 or Azure Load Testing, identifying bottlenecks across the stack.
- Define and track quality metrics (test coverage, defect leakage, flakiness rate), triage failures, and collaborate with engineering teams to root-cause and resolve issues quickly.
- Establish test data management and environment strategies (mocking/stubbing AI responses, synthetic commerce data) to ensure reliable, repeatable test execution across environments.
Skills Required :
- 4–7 years in QA/test engineering
- At least 2–3 years building and maintaining automated test suites using Playwright, ideally within e-commerce or high-transaction-volume platforms with AI-driven features.
Benefits:
Joining Cognizant will give you the opportunity to learn and collaborate with some of the most talented people in the industry, while having your finger on the pulse of emerging industry trends and working on the cutting edge of technology in your field of expertise.
