Product Owner
About the Role
As a Product Owner, you will make an impact by driving product vision, requirements management, stakeholder engagement, and solution delivery for strategic business and technology initiatives. You will be a valued member of the Product and Delivery team and work collaboratively with business stakeholders, architects, developers, testers, and cross-functional teams to translate business needs into scalable, high-quality solutions.
In this role, you will serve as the bridge between business and technology teams, ensuring requirements are clearly defined, prioritized, and delivered through agile methodologies while maximizing business value and customer outcomes.
In This Role, You Will
- Partner with business stakeholders to elicit, analyze, document, and prioritize business and functional requirements.
- Create and maintain user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and product backlog items to support successful solution delivery.
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops, requirements sessions, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and product review meetings.
- Analyze data flows, APIs, integrations, and business processes to define comprehensive solution requirements and support implementation efforts.
- Collaborate with development, testing, architecture, and business teams to ensure solutions meet business objectives, quality standards, and user expectations.

What You Need to Have to Be Considered
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in Product Ownership, Business Analysis, Product Management, or related disciplines.
- Strong experience gathering, analyzing, documenting, and managing business and functional requirements.
- Proven experience creating user stories, acceptance criteria, process documentation, and business requirements artifacts.
- Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies, including backlog management and sprint planning.
- Experience performing data mapping, data analysis, and business process analysis.
- Experience analyzing APIs, integrations, and system interactions to define solution requirements.
- Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Experience working closely with business users, architects, developers, and QA teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
These Will Help You Stand Out
- Experience delivering enterprise-scale digital transformation initiatives.
- Experience working within Financial Services, Insurance, Healthcare, Retail, or other complex regulated industries.
- Knowledge of cloud technologies, data platforms, and modern application architectures.
- Experience with Agile tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Rally, or equivalent platforms.
- Experience supporting API-driven applications and enterprise integration initiatives.
- Certifications such as Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO), CBAP, PMI-PBA, or PMP.
- Experience supporting data-driven products, analytics initiatives, and information management solutions.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business language for executive and stakeholder audiences.

Salary and Other Compensation
The annual salary for this position will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors, in accordance with local market practices and applicable employment laws in Canada.
This position may also be eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
