Senior Node.js Developer
About the role
As a Senior Node.js Developer, you will make an impact by designing and developing scalable healthcare applications and integration solutions that support critical business and clinical processes. You will be a valued member of the engineering team and work collaboratively with architects, product owners, business analysts, and cross-functional technology teams to deliver secure, high-performing cloud-native solutions.
This position does not offer visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work without sponsorship now or in the future, including OPT, CPT, H1B or any other work authorization requiring employer sponsorship.
In this role, you will:
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using TypeScript, Node.js, and microservices architecture.
- Build and support healthcare data integrations using HL7 FHIR R4 standards, including resource modeling and validation.
- Develop scalable and secure cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS services and best practices.
- Collaborate with product, architecture, and business stakeholders to define technical solutions and deliver high-quality software.
- Integrate healthcare claims and eligibility workflows through exposure to X12 EDI transactions, including 837, 835, and 270/271 transaction sets.

Based on this role's business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days in a client office in Eagan, MN. What you need to have to be considered
- Strong experience developing applications using TypeScript and Node.js.
- Hands-on experience designing and implementing microservices-based architectures.
- Experience building and deploying applications on AWS.
- Strong knowledge of HL7 FHIR R4, including resource modeling, validation, and healthcare interoperability standards.
- Exposure to X12 EDI transactions, including claims (837/835) and eligibility transactions (270/271).
- Experience with RESTful APIs, distributed systems, and integration platforms.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in agile development environments.
These will help you stand out
- Experience within the healthcare or payer/provider domain.
- Knowledge of HIPAA, healthcare compliance, and data security practices.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments with high-volume transaction processing.

Compensation
The annual salary for this position ranges from $120,000 to $140,000, depending on experience and qualifications. This role is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, subject to performance and applicable plan terms.
