About the role
As a Senior AI Agent Developer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and deploying intelligent AI agents that automate business processes and improve user experiences. You will work with Microsoft Copilot Studio, Claude, Azure OpenAI, and enterprise knowledge sources to build secure, scalable, and reliable conversational AI solutions.
In this role, you will:
· Design, develop, and deploy AI agents using Microsoft Copilot Studio, Claude, and related Generative AI technologies.
· Build conversational experiences that answer user questions, automate tasks, and execute business workflows.
· Integrate AI agents with enterprise systems, REST APIs, databases, SharePoint, Microsoft 365, and third-party platforms.
· Develop and optimize Retrieval-Augmented Generation solutions using enterprise knowledge sources.
· Configure agent topics, actions, plugins, connectors, and orchestration logic.
· Create AI-driven business processes and workflow automations using Power Automate.
· Implement governance, security, compliance, and responsible AI practices throughout the development lifecycle.
· Monitor agent performance and usage metrics, troubleshoot production issues, and continuously improve response quality.
· Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify automation opportunities and translate business needs into AI use cases.

What you need to have to be considered
· Experience designing and developing AI agents, conversational AI solutions, or Generative AI applications.
· Knowledge of Large Language Models, prompt engineering, Natural Language Processing, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation architecture.
· Development experience using Python and JavaScript or TypeScript.
· Experience integrating applications with REST APIs, JSON, enterprise systems, and databases.
· Experience working with Microsoft Azure, Azure OpenAI, or Azure AI Services.
· Understanding of AI agent design, orchestration, security, governance, and responsible AI practices.
This will help you stand out
· Hands-on experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio and Microsoft 365 Copilot.
· Experience using Claude or similar Generative AI platforms.
· Experience developing workflows and business process automations using Power Automate.
· Knowledge of React or Angular for developing user-facing experiences.
· Familiarity with Java, SQL Server, SharePoint, and Microsoft 365 integrations.
· Experience supporting AI solutions in production and using performance insights to improve response quality.
Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $81,337 to $141,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
