Business Analyst
About the role
As a Business Analyst, you will make an impact by driving digital transformation initiatives across pharmaceutical research and early discovery. You will serve as a strategic partner between research scientists, business stakeholders, product owners, and technology teams to translate scientific needs into innovative digital solutions that accelerate research outcomes.
In this role, you will:
- Lead requirements discovery workshops with scientists, research leaders, and business stakeholders to define digital R&D solutions.
- Analyze and document business processes, functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and product backlogs.
- Partner with Product Owners to define product roadmaps, prioritize features, and support Agile delivery activities.
- Evaluate scientific research workflows and identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and digital innovation.
- Facilitate collaboration across business, scientific, and technology teams to ensure successful solution delivery and user adoption.

What you need to have to be considered
- 12+ years of experience in Business Analysis, Product Analysis, or related roles within Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical R&D, or Scientific Research.
- Strong understanding of one or more of the following areas: Drug Discovery, Early Research, Preclinical Development, Translational Research, Bioinformatics, Genomics, Proteomics, Biomarkers, Chemistry, Biology, or Scientific Data Management.
- Proven experience gathering business requirements and translating complex scientific needs into functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Hands-on experience with process mapping, gap analysis, stakeholder management, requirements traceability, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Experience working within Agile, Scrum, SAFe, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery environments.
- Strong communication, facilitation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leaders.
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biomedical Sciences, Computer Science, or a related field.
These will help you stand out
- Experience supporting digital transformation programs within Pharmaceutical Research and Development organizations.
- Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in a Life Sciences or related scientific discipline.
- Knowledge of laboratory informatics platforms, scientific data platforms, and research technologies.
- Certifications such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, Certified Product Owner, Scrum, Agile, or SAFe.
- Experience applying emerging technologies such as AI/ML, Generative AI, laboratory automation, knowledge graphs, or data products within Life Sciences research environments.
