About the role
As a Technical Writer, you will make an impact by creating, maintaining, and delivering high-quality technical documentation that supports core banking products and enables clients to effectively implement, maintain, and utilize banking solutions. You will be a valued member of the product documentation team and work collaboratively with product managers, software development teams, subject matter experts, and technical leadership.
In this role, you will:
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including release notes, online help content, user guides, and installation guides for core banking products.
- Review product enhancements and requirements to identify documentation updates and ensure content accuracy.
- Partner with development teams and subject matter experts to gather technical information and translate complex concepts into clear, user-friendly documentation.
- Manage multiple documentation deliverables simultaneously while meeting established release schedules and project milestones.
- Participate in regular stakeholder meetings to communicate documentation progress, track priorities, and support successful product releases.

What you need to have to be considered
- Experience as a Technical Writer creating software, product, or technical documentation.
- Knowledge of core banking systems, financial services applications, or banking operations and principles.
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Experience collaborating with software development teams, business stakeholders, and subject matter experts.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with documentation and collaboration tools such as Jira, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
These will help you stand out
- Experience supporting documentation for core banking platforms or financial technology products.
- Knowledge of structured authoring or content management systems such as Vasont.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and Jira-based workflows.
- Experience using project and resource management tools such as Planview and Beeline.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality documentation across multiple product releases.

The annual salary for this position is between $60,000 to $76,000 depending on the experience and other qualifications of the candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
