About the role
As a Senior Automation Test Engineer with Playwright and TypeScript experience, you will make an impact by designing, building, and maintaining robust automated testing solutions that ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of enterprise‑scale applications. You will be a valued member of a cross‑functional technology team, working closely with developers, QA partners, and product stakeholders to improve test coverage, accelerate releases, and drive quality across complex technology stacks.
In this role, you will:
· Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks using Playwright and TypeScript.
· Create and execute simple to medium‑complex SQL queries to validate data accuracy and integrity.
· Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to understand application architecture and testing requirements.
· Implement automation solutions that improve test efficiency, scalability, and coverage across enterprise platforms.
· Analyze test failures, identify root causes, and partner with development teams to drive resolution.
· Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve testability and code quality.
· Continuously evaluate and enhance automation tools, frameworks, and processes within CI/CD pipelines.

What you need to have to be considered
· 5–7 years of experience in a test automation engineering role.
· Strong, hands‑on expertise with Playwright and TypeScript (mandatory).
· Practical experience writing SQL queries for data validation and testing.
· Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar.
· Clear knowledge of SDLC and STLC, with experience working in Agile environments.
· Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced, enterprise setting.
· Excellent communication skills with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

· Experience automating tests for large‑scale or enterprise applications.
· Exposure to modern testing strategies, tools, and best practices.
· Familiarity with cloud‑based environments and integrated enterprise tech stacks.
· A proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement and innovation in test automation.

Salary and Other Compensation:
Applications will be accepted until April 30th, 2026
The annual salary for this position is between $53,477 to 92,500 $71,100 to 112,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
