Responsibilities
A significant portion of this role involves overseeing our Peering and Interconnection strategy and the execution of projects initiated by the lead interconnection and network strategic negotiator team ensuring we maintain optimal latency reduce transit costs and scale our edge to meet growing demand. Responsibilities Peering Management Lead negotiations and technical integration with IXPs CDNs and Tier-1 transit providers. Manage peering DB entries prefix limits and community-based routing policies. Capacity Planning: Analyze NetFlow/SFlow data to forecast growth and recommend strategic upgrades to backbone links or peering capacity. Escalation Support: Serve as the Tier-3 point of contact for complex routing loops convergence issues or large-scale DDoS mitigation Partner with Network Operations to define service observability troubleshoot issues and support fault/performance management strategies. Collaborate across product software and engineering teams to enable advanced enterprise offerings (e.g. DIA L2/L3 VPNs transport). Minimum qualifications: Bachelor s degree in CS EE or related field or equivalent practical experience. 3+ years in internetworking design and operations ideally at a service provider. (In this context internetworking refers to public and private peering IP transit CDNs and content caching and related inter-AS networking.) Familiarity with peering tools such PeeringDB and looking glasses Hands-on experience with router platforms from vendors such as Juniper Nokia Arista and/or Cisco. Experience with IP/MPLS protocols - BGP v4/v6 IS-IS or OSPF MP-BGP Segment Routing RSVP-TE LDP L3VPNs (RFC 2547) VPLS/EVPN - and network virtualization (SDN/NFV). Strong knowledge of monitoring and telemetry tools (NetFlow SNMP syslog) and packet-level analysis (Wireshark TCPdump). Strong cross-functional communication and documentation skills. Preferred qualifications: Masters degree in a technical field or equivalent experience. Routing policy Expertise: Deep understanding of BGP attributes (Local Preference MED AS-Path Prepending) to manipulate inbound and outbound traffic Certifications: JNCIE-SP CCIE Service Provider or equivalent industry experience.
