Role Summary

Support Cognizant’s GIS Transformation Program for the client, focusing on Esri Utility Network migration, GIS modernization, and cloud-based integrations on Microsoft Azure. Act as a liaison between client stakeholders and delivery teams, ensuring alignment with business objectives and Esri best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Solution Delivery
    • Implement GIS design standards, symbology, and configuration baselines for ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and Utility Network.
  • Data Management
    • Maintain and manage utility network datasets in ArcGIS Pro, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
    • Configure and update electric circuit subnetworks, connectivity rules, and network topology.
  • Migration & Integration
    • Collaborate on migration from ArcFM and Smallworld to Esri UN; ensure seamless integration with ADMS/OMS, EAM, CIS, and BI systems.
  • Analysis & Support
    • Perform advanced network tracing and spatial analysis to support fault isolation and maintenance planning.
  • Client Interaction
    • Participate in client workshops; provide technical expertise during design and implementation phases.
  • Governance
    • Support agile delivery governance using Azure DevOps and Smartsheet for tracking and reporting.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • 10-12+ years in Utilities consulting; 8 years in GIS transformation projects.
  • Strong proficiency in ArcGIS Pro, Esri Utility Network, and GIS data modeling.
  • Experience with network topology, connectivity rules, and subnetwork management.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based GIS solutions and enterprise integration.

Preferred Skills

  • Prior experience with similar IOUs.
  • Knowledge of ArcFM, Smallworld, and Esri UN web services.
  • Exposure to DER/grid modernization initiatives.
  • Ability to lead small teams and manage client expectations effectively.

KPIs

  • Successful configuration and migration to Esri UN.
  • Reduction in GIS data errors and improved QA/QC throughput.
  • Timely delivery of project milestones and adherence to compliance standards.

Tools & Platforms

ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, Utility Network, Azure DevOps, Smartsheet; integrations with Hexagon ADMS/OMS, CGI OpenGrid EAM, CIS, BI.

*Travel: willingness to travel extensively as client needs require.

Required Education & Work Authorization:

Education: Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or master’s strongly preferred.

Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future.

Salary & Compensation:

Salary: Applications will be accepted until June 12th, 2026. The annual salary for this position is between $122,400.00 – $194,000.00 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

Incentives: Eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, subject to applicable plan terms.
