Responsibilities
- Analyze complex spatial datasets from multiple sources to produce accurate maps and location intelligence that enable data driven business decisions in various industries.
- Develop clear map visualizations and geospatial reports that communicate patterns trends and risks in a format that can be easily understood by technical and non technical stakeholders.
- Apply geospatial analysis techniques such as buffering overlay and spatial joins to evaluate relationships between locations and support scenario planning and site selection.
- Maintain and update geospatial databases by validating data quality resolving inconsistencies and documenting data lineage to ensure reliable analytics outputs.
- Configure and support desktop mapping tools and related software environments to ensure stable performance and smooth user experience for distributed teams.
- Provide remote desktop support for geospatial and productivity applications by diagnosing issues applying fixes and guiding users through best practices in a hybrid work setting.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to understand business questions translate them into geospatial analysis tasks and deliver insights that align with organizational goals.
- Optimize geospatial workflows by automating repetitive tasks organizing templates and standardizing processes that reduce manual effort and improve delivery timelines.
- Document methods data sources assumptions and analysis steps in a structured manner to enable reproducibility and knowledge sharing across the analytics community.
- Support data governance activities by following security privacy and compliance guidelines when handling sensitive spatial information for internal and external clients.
- Coordinate with infrastructure and support teams to ensure desktops remote access tools and mapping platforms remain updated secure and compatible with organizational standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying gaps in geospatial capabilities suggesting enhancements and experimenting with new tools that can expand analytical reach.
- Align daily work with the company purpose by focusing on geospatial solutions that improve community services optimize resource use and support sustainable development outcomes.
Qualifications
- Explain prior experience in geospatial analysis roles spanning three to seven years with a focus on transforming raw spatial data into meaningful business insights.
- Demonstrate strong hands on skills in desktop mapping tools and spatial data handling including tasks such as layer management projection handling and spatial querying.
- Describe experience in providing desktop support in remote or hybrid environments including troubleshooting software issues and guiding users through technical steps.
- Highlight knowledge of coordinate reference concepts geocoding processes and spatial data formats that support accurate integration of multiple datasets.
- Show familiarity with scripting or automation approaches that help streamline recurring geospatial tasks and improve consistency of analytical outputs.
- Emphasize clear communication skills for presenting maps dashboards and written reports to audiences with varying levels of technical understanding.
- Detail experience working with multidisciplinary teams such as operations planning and technology partners to ensure geospatial solutions address real world challenges.
- Outline comfort with standard productivity tools remote collaboration platforms and ticketing systems used to manage desktop support and analytics requests.
- Describe awareness of ethical considerations and regulatory expectations when handling location data including respect for privacy and appropriate data use.
- Highlight an attitude of continuous learning staying updated on emerging geospatial techniques desktop platforms and analytical methods that can enhance project outcomes.
