ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Senior Tester to lead the end-to-end testing strategy for a large-scale Teradata-to-Snowflake migration in the banking sector. You will define test coverage, build and execute test plans, drive automation, and act as the quality gate for ETL pipelines, data reconciliation and cutover readiness. This is a senior, client-facing role with responsibility for mentoring junior testers and reporting quality metrics to programme leadership.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Define the overall test strategy, scope and coverage framework for the Teradata to Snowflake migration.
· Create, maintain and execute test plans and test cases for ETL pipelines and data validation (IDMC preferred).
· Perform source-to-target reconciliation; validate transformations, mappings, business rules and referential integrity.
· Test full and incremental data loads, error handling, regression scenarios and performance benchmarks.
· Lead parallel run and cutover readiness testing activities.
· Track and report defects and quality metrics using JIRA and/or HP ALM.
· Collaborate with data engineers, business analysts and business stakeholders throughout the test lifecycle.
· Drive test automation for repeatable validation checks; support CI/CD integration of ETL tests.
· Mentor and guide junior testers within the team.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
· Extensive ETL and data warehouse testing experience on large-scale migration programmes.
· Strong SQL skills across both Snowflake and Teradata environments.
· Hands-on experience with Informatica IDMC (preferred) or PowerCenter.
· Deep expertise in data migration testing: schema mapping, datatype conversions, SCD handling and star schema (fact/dimension) validation.
· Experience with Snowflake on Azure.
· Full test lifecycle ownership: SIT, Integration, UAT, parallel run and cutover.
· Defect management and reporting using JIRA and/or HP ALM.
Nice to have:
· Scripting skills in Python or Shell/PowerShell for test automation.
· CI/CD and DevOps exposure applied to data pipeline testing.
· BFSI domain experience.
