About the role

We are looking for a motivated Junior Java Full Stack Developer (d/f/m) with good German communication skills to join our growing engineering team at an Insurance Client. The ideal candidate should have foundational full-stack development knowledge, a strong willingness to learn, and the ability to collaborate in a bilingual (German/English) environment. This role involves working on end-to-end application development, maintenance, and enhancement for enterprise systems.


In this role you will:

Backend Development

• Develop and maintain backend components using Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful APIs.

• Support integration with databases such as MySQL / PostgreSQL / Oracle.

• Assist in writing clean, maintainable, and testable code following coding standards.

• Participate in debugging, issue resolution, and performance tuning.

Frontend Development

• Build responsive web interfaces using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and frameworks like Angular / React / Vue.js (basic knowledge acceptable).

• Collaborate with UI/UX teams to implement user interfaces and improve usability.

DevOps & Tools

• Use Git for version control and participate in code reviews.

• Work with CI/CD tools (Jenkins/GitHub Actions/Azure DevOps) under guidance.

• Learn and adopt containerization basics (Docker knowledge is a plus).

Collaboration & Communication

• Work closely with senior developers, testers, and business analysts.

• Communicate effectively with German-speaking stakeholders and team members.

• Participate in Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives).

Based on this role’s business requirements, this position is hybrid or remote and open to qualified applicants anywhere in Germany.

What you need to have to be considered

• 2–5 years of hands-on experience in Java development.

· Basic knowledge of: Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs

· Frontend frameworks (Angular/React/Vue.js)

· Relational Databases (SQL)

· Familiarity with Git, Junit, and build tools such as Maven/Gradle.

· Understanding of software development principles (OOP, MVC, microservices basics).

· German language proficiency (language level B1 or above the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)) is mandatory.

· Good English communication skills.


These will help you stand out:

• Experience using AI such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Anthropic Claude in daily development workflows

• Experience with cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP).

• Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, or CI/CD pipelines.

• Knowledge of MongoDB or other NoSQL databases.

• Basic understanding of DevOps practices.
