About the role
In this role you will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of scalable ServiceNow SecOps, SIR and VR solutions, including custom scoped applications and complex workflows.
In this role, you will:
- System Integration: Design and maintain robust integrations between ServiceNow and enterprise systems using Integration Hub, REST/SOAP APIs, and MID Servers.
- Platform Governance: Establish and enforce coding standards, best practices, and security policies (ACLs) to ensure platform scalability and performance.
- Agile Collaboration: Facilitate requirements gathering workshops, translate business needs into technical user stories, and manage sprint backlogs.
- Platform Maintenance: Oversee instance upgrades, patch management, and automated testing (ATF) to maintain environment consistency and stability.
- AI & Innovation: Explore and implement AI-powered features, to automate repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency.
Work Model

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is an onsite position requiring 5 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Charlotte, NC.

What you need to have to be considered
Required Technical Skills
- ServiceNow Scripting: Expert-level proficiency in JavaScript, GlideScript, Business Rules, Client Scripts, and Script Includes.
- Integration Expertise: Advanced knowledge of API protocols (REST, SOAP), JSON, and data transformation techniques.
- Platform Tools: Mastery of Flow Designer, Studio IDE, Update Sets, and Automated Test Framework (ATF).
- Domain Knowledge: In-depth experience with core modules like ITSM, ITOM, SecOps, Vulnerability Response, Security Incident Response.
- Experience: Typically 8–10 years of IT experience dedicated specifically to ServiceNow development.
These will help you stand out
- Certifications: ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) and Certified Application Developer (CAD), Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) in specific modules like ITSM, ITOM, SecOps, SIR, VR.
- Methodology: Strong understanding of ITIL best practices and Agile/Scrum frameworks.
- Analytical Ability: Advanced troubleshooting skills to resolve complex technical issues and optimize system performance.
· Communication: Ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders clearly
