Job Title: Systems Engineer
Job Location: Hybrid [3 days onsite]- Toronto, ON
We are seeking a Systems Engineer to focus on providing advanced technical support for desktop systems in a hybrid work model. The candidate will ensure seamless operations troubleshoot issues and optimize system performance while contributing to the organizations overall efficiency and productivity.
In this role, you will
- Provide advanced technical support for desktop systems ensuring smooth functionality and resolving complex issues effectively.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software problems identifying root causes and implementing solutions to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure desktop systems align with organizational needs and goals.
- Monitor system performance and proactively address potential issues to maintain optimal operational efficiency.
- Implement and maintain security protocols to safeguard desktop systems and sensitive data.
- Develop and document technical procedures and guidelines for desktop support processes.
- Assist in the deployment and configuration of new desktop systems ensuring compatibility with existing infrastructure.
- Conduct regular system updates and patches to ensure compliance with organizational standards and security requirements.
- Provide training and guidance to end-users on desktop system functionalities and best practices.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to enhance desktop support services.
- Maintain inventory of desktop hardware and software ensuring accurate tracking and timely upgrades.
- Collaborate with vendors and external partners to resolve technical issues and procure necessary resources.
- Ensure all desktop support activities adhere to company policies and contribute to the organizations overall efficiency and productivity.
What you’ll need to succeed (required skills)
- Possess strong expertise in desktop support including troubleshooting configuration and maintenance.
- Demonstrate proficiency in operating systems such as Windows and MacOS along with associated tools and utilities.
- Exhibit excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve complex technical issues effectively.
- Showcase strong communication skills to interact with end-users and cross-functional teams.
- Have a solid understanding of security protocols and best practices for desktop systems.
- Display familiarity with remote desktop support tools and hybrid work model requirements.
- Hold a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in desktop support with a maximum of 7 years preferred.
- Demonstrate adaptability to evolving technologies and a proactive approach to learning new tools.
- Possess organizational skills to manage inventory and documentation efficiently.
- Exhibit a customer-focused mindset to ensure user satisfaction and seamless operations.
- Show ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment.
- Demonstrate commitment to maintaining high standards of service delivery and operational excellence.
- Have experience in creating and maintaining technical documentation for desktop support processes.
Certifications Required
- CompTIA A+ Certification or Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate
