About the role
As a Senior Consultant – Generative AI (Telecommunications), you will make an impact by shaping, validating, and delivering Generative AI strategies that drive tangible business outcomes for large, regulated enterprise clients. You will be a valued member of Cognizant Consulting’s AI and Digital Transformation team and work collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders, delivery teams, and client leaders—particularly within the telecommunications domain.
In this role, you will:
- Shape Generative AI strategies and value cases by identifying high-impact business use cases, defining target operating model changes, and translating opportunities into measurable outcomes.
- Lead discovery workshops, readiness assessments, and stakeholder alignment sessions across technology, legal, security, and operations teams.
- Design and deliver business cases, roadmaps, and adoption plans with clearly defined KPIs tied to operational, customer, and financial impact.
- Apply Generative AI solutions to telecommunications use cases, including agent assist, knowledge retrieval, incident triage, order and billing inquiries, and automation of operational workflows.
- Operate effectively within large, highly regulated enterprise environments by aligning deliverables to SDLC, ITSM, security, and change control standards.
Work model – Hybrid
We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring time in a client or Cognizant office, depending on project needs.
This role is open to qualified applicants based near the following locations:
- Bedminster or Middletown, New Jersey
- Dallas metroplex, Texas
- Atlanta, Georgia
- Bothell, Washington

What you must have to be considered
- Experience in consulting, advisory, or transformation roles supporting enterprise clients.
- Hands-on experience shaping or delivering Generative AI initiatives, including use case identification, business case development, and roadmap execution.
- Knowledge of Generative AI concepts and approaches such as retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), prompt engineering, model evaluation, guardrails, and governance.
- Experience working in complex, regulated environments with strong security, compliance, and change management requirements.
- Strong client-facing skills, including facilitation of workshops, stakeholder alignment, and executive-ready communication.
These will help you succeed
- Telecommunications industry experience, particularly across customer operations, network operations, or back-office processes.
- Familiarity with human-in-the-loop AI and agent-based operating models that balance automation with governance and risk controls.
- Experience supporting AI pilots through scale, including adoption measurement, quality monitoring, and change management.
- Ability to mentor junior team members and contribute to reusable assets, standards, or methodologies.
- A continuous learning mindset and curiosity about evolving AI capabilities and enterprise applications.
