Job Title: macOS Engineer (L3 Support & MDM Administration)
Location: Candidates will need to work all 5 days a week from the Client's office in Jersey City, NJ – Hybrid Work/Remote work is NOT an option.

Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled macOS Engineer to provide Level 3 (L3) support, lead enterprise-scale MDM administration, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the Apple ecosystem. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong stakeholder engagement, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the L3 escalation point for macOS-related incidents and problems, owning high-severity issues through to resolution, including detailed root cause analysis (RCA).
Administer, maintain, and optimize Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms (e.g., Jamf, Workspace ONE) at enterprise scale.
Design and develop automation scripts and tools to reduce operational overhead, improve endpoint visibility, and accelerate issue remediation.
Collaborate closely with Security, Networking, and Service Desk teams to standardize solutions, enhance knowledge base documentation, and uplift L1/L2 support capabilities.
Monitor and report on endpoint fleet health, including KPIs such as compliance, patching, and incident trends; drive data-backed continuous improvement initiatives.
Support a cross-platform enterprise environment, including collaboration with Windows teams and providing support for VDI/Citrix environments as required.
Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including runbooks, SOPs, and change records; actively participate in change and release management processes.
Required Qualifications & Experience
5+ years of hands-on experience in Desktop Support and macOS engineering.
5+ years of experience managing MDM platforms (Jamf, Workspace ONE) in large-scale enterprise environments (10,000+ devices).
Strong expertise in the Apple ecosystem, including:
- Apple Business Manager (ABM)
- Automated Device Enrollment (ADE)
- Volume Purchase Program (VPP)
- Configuration profiles and policy frameworks
Advanced troubleshooting capabilities across:
Networking (Wi-Fi, VPN)
Identity, SSO, and authentication systems
Certificates and endpoint security
Proven ability to work independently, manage priorities effectively, and perform under pressure.
Strong communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills
Experience with macOS scripting and automation (Bash, Python).
Familiarity with security compliance frameworks and endpoint hardening practices.
Exposure to hybrid enterprise environments (macOS, Windows, VDI/Citrix).
Salary and Other Compensation: The annual salary for the position is between $85,000/year - $100,000/year and depends on experience and other qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
