We are looking for a Senior SDET with strong expertise with Playwright automation skills to join our QEA team in a permanent role. You will be responsible for developing and completing automated tests, including integration/API tests and end-to-end testing to ensure robust quality coverage for our Manufacturing applications.
In this role, you will
- Develop robust and maintainable automation test scripts using Playwright.
- Write, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for web applications and APIs.
- Develop scalable and reusable test automation frameworks using Playwright, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
- Conduct comprehensive API testing to validate functionality, reliability, and performance.
- Helps lead test automation effort, advocating for automation and contributes to framework design and suggests process improvements.
- Reviews automated test runs, reports out on automated test execution and coverage statuses, and maintains broken automated tests.
- Identify, log, and track software defects, and work with teams to resolve issues.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub.
Required skills
- Must have 10+ years hands on experience in designing automation framework, automation script development and Maintenance with strong expertise in Playwright.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in automation (UI + API) automation, test automation framework development and test process implementation.
- Must have Minimum 3+ years of experience in Playwright tool using JavaScript or TypeScript programming language.
- Strong Knowledge in API automation using API automation framework like Karate, VI Test and Rest assured.
- Expert in API functional testing using Postman tool.
- Experience with CI/CD tools like GitHub actions CI CD for automated test execution and integration.
- Strong knowledge of Testing process/types, Agile experience, Defect management tool like JIRA.
Preferred skills
· Experience with Manufacturing domain is preferred.
· Gen AI Testing knowledge.
· Playwright MCP knowledge is value add.

Total compensation:
We regularly assess market data to ensure we offer a competitive compensation package for our associates. The base salary for this position ranges between CAD 85,000 – 110,000 per year. Where the successful candidate may fall within the range depends on relevant education, work and/or management experience and other business-related and job-necessary qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual performance-based bonus, as well as benefits that support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing.
