About the role
As a Consulting Manager – Trade Settlement & Custody, you will make an impact by supporting strategic transformation initiatives across Trade Settlement, Custodian Services, and SWIFT modernization programs. You will be a valued member of the Capital Markets team and work collaboratively with business, operations, and technology stakeholders to drive requirements, solution design, and delivery across global transformation initiatives.
In this role, you will:
Analyze and document the end-to-end trade lifecycle, including execution, confirmation, clearing, and settlement processes
Manage workflows involving custodians, clearing houses, brokers, and counterparties while supporting post-trade operations
Monitor and analyze settlement cycles (T+1/T+2), identify trade breaks, reconciliation issues, and settlement failures, and support resolution efforts
Drive initiatives related to SWIFT MT/MX messaging modernization and ISO 20022 migration programs
Gather and document business requirements, develop BRDs, FRDs, user stories, process flows, and data mapping artifacts, while facilitating workshops across business, operations, and technology teams

What you must have to be considered
8–14 years of experience as a Business Analyst within Capital Markets, Trade Settlement, Custody Services, or Post-Trade Operations
Strong understanding of the end-to-end trade lifecycle, including execution, confirmation, clearing, settlement, and reconciliation processes
Experience working with custodians, clearing houses, brokers, counterparties, and post-trade operational workflows
Experience supporting SWIFT MT/MX messaging initiatives and ISO 20022 transformation programs
Strong business analysis skills including requirements gathering, stakeholder management, workshop facilitation, and documentation
Experience creating BRDs, FRDs, user stories, process flow diagrams (As-Is/To-Be), and data mapping documents
Experience leading or supporting large-scale transformation initiatives such as T+1 migration, automation, or regulatory change programs
Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge business, operations, and technology teams
These will help you succeed
Experience with Broadridge post-trade platforms including GLOSS, INTACT, or BPSA
Experience identifying opportunities for AI-driven automation within trade processing, reconciliation, and operational workflows
Knowledge of trade break management, exception processing, and settlement optimization
Experience working on strategic transformation programs within Capital Markets organizations
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex business requirements into effective solutions
Experience facilitating cross-functional workshops and driving alignment across multiple stakeholder groups

We regularly assess market data to ensure we offer a competitive compensation package for our associates. The base salary for this position ranges between $100,000 - $126,000 per year. Where the successful candidate may fall within the range depends on relevant education, work and/or management experience and other business-related and job-necessary qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual performance-based bonus, as well as benefits that support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing.
