Platform Infrastructure Engineer (AWS Platform & DevSecOps)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Platform Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, automate, modernize, and operate cloud platform services supporting enterprise digital products and business-critical applications.
This role is ideal for a highly motivated engineer with strong AWS platform engineering expertise who can work independently across both greenfield and brownfield environments. The successful candidate will drive infrastructure modernization, platform automation, and operational excellence through Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), DevSecOps practices, CI/CD integration, cloud governance, and observability solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure supporting enterprise platforms and digital services.
- Deliver infrastructure modernization, migration, optimization, and transformation initiatives.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or similar technologies.
- Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and other enterprise-approved tools.
- Manage source code repositories, branching strategies, merge requests, and infrastructure code governance.
- Produce and maintain architecture documents, solution designs, runbooks, and operational procedures.
- Design and implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability solutions.
- Leverage tools such as Amazon CloudWatch, AWS CloudTrail, AWS Config, Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Dynatrace, or equivalent technologies.
- Apply cloud governance frameworks, security standards, and compliance requirements.
- Support vulnerability remediation, security reviews, audits, and risk assessments.
- Monitor and maintain cloud infrastructure to ensure reliability, security, and operational stability.
- Support incident management, problem management, root cause analysis, and service improvement initiatives.
- Perform patching, maintenance, technology refresh, and platform enhancement activities.
- Administer and troubleshoot Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments hosted on AWS.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, Security Teams, Infrastructure Teams, and vendors to deliver platform initiatives.
- Provide technical recommendations and support engineering and management decision-making.
- Promote engineering best practices, automation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps, Infrastructure Engineering, or related technical roles.
- Strong hands-on experience designing, implementing, and operating AWS cloud environments.
- Strong experience administering and troubleshooting Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
- Proven experience implementing Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or similar technologies.
- Experience delivering solutions across both greenfield and brownfield environments.
- Strong experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, or similar tools.
- Experience supporting enterprise DevSecOps delivery platforms.
- Experience with Git repositories, branching strategies, source control, and infrastructure code management.
- Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation using Confluence or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of AWS networking, IAM, security controls, monitoring, logging, and operational resilience.
- Experience implementing monitoring, observability, and platform visibility solutions.
- Familiarity with governance, risk management, compliance, and security requirements in regulated environments.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and drive technical initiatives with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional).
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional.
- AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Associate.
- Experience working in regulated cloud environments.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Amazon ECS, or Amazon EKS.
- Experience with Dynatrace, Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, and Amazon CloudWatch.
- Experience working with Data Governance, Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure Management, or Cybersecurity teams.
- Experience in Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or DevSecOps environments.
- Familiarity with ITIL, service management, vendor management, and operational governance frameworks.
