Key Responsibilities

Network Monitoring & Operations

  • Monitor network performance, availability, and alerts using NMS tools.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve L1/L2 network incidents related to routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring network issues.
  • Maintain documentation for incidents, changes, configurations, and standard operating procedures.

Network Device Management

  • Perform configuration, upgrades, and maintenance of:
    • Routers (Cisco, Juniper, etc.)
    • Switches (Layer 2 & Layer 3)
    • Firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA, Check Point, etc.)
    • Load Balancers (F5, Citrix ADC, etc.)

Network Delivery / Implementation Tasks

  • Execute port activations (port turn-ups) and end-to-end connectivity tests.
  • Create, modify, and validate firewall rules while following security policies.
  • Participate in network deployments, migrations, and capacity expansion activities.
  • Assist in implementing load-balancing policies and traffic routing rules.

Operational Support & Compliance

  • Work with cross-functional teams to support application rollouts and infra changes.
  • Ensure all changes follow ITIL processes (Change, Incident, Problem).
  • Maintain network security and compliance through periodic audits and patching.
  • Participate in on-call rotation or 24/7 support shifts (as applicable).

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of networking protocols: TCP/IP, VLANs, STP, BGP, OSPF, HSRP/VRRP, NAT/PAT, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise-grade network hardware.
  • Experience with firewall management and rule deployment.
  • Familiarity with load balancer concepts: VIPs, pools, health monitors, SSL offloading.
  • Good knowledge of troubleshooting tools (Wireshark, traceroute, ping, netstat).
  • Ability to read network diagrams and understand architecture flows.
