We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and build resilient enterprise services and web applications in a hybrid work environment. This role focuses on developing secure, scalable solutions using Java, Spring Boot, JavaScript, SQL, and AWS. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance cards and payments processing, optimize data flows, and improve customer and business partner experiences across the platform lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop robust backend services using Java and Spring Boot to support high-volume transaction processing and integrations
- Build clean, maintainable, and testable APIs and microservices following coding best practices
- Develop and optimize SQL / PL-SQL queries in MySQL to ensure performance, data integrity, and efficiency
- Create responsive and intuitive frontend components using JavaScript for business and operations workflows
- Configure and leverage AWS services (compute, storage, database, messaging) for scalable and cost-efficient deployments
- Develop automated unit, integration, and component tests and support CI/CD pipelines
- Participate in code reviews and technical discussions to ensure engineering standards and continuous improvement
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive solutions
- Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, and QA teams to refine requirements and deliver business value
- Create and maintain technical documentation, system designs, and architecture diagrams
- Apply secure coding practices and ensure compliance with payment and data security regulations
- Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in full stack development and cloud-native solutions
- Identify automation opportunities to improve build, deployment, and monitoring processes
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 6–9 years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on backend or full-stack development
- Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot, including RESTful services and microservices architecture
- Advanced proficiency in SQL / PL-SQL and MySQL (query tuning, schema design, transactional systems)
- Hands-on experience with AWS services for application hosting, scalability, and monitoring
- Solid experience with JavaScript for web application development and API integration
- Experience in cards and payments domain (authorization, settlement, disputes)
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, best practices, and secure coding principles
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in high-volume transaction environments
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and DevOps practices
- Exposure to regulatory and compliance requirements in financial systems
