Rubrik Backup Architect

Location: Eagan, MN

We are seeking a Rubrik Backup Architect to design and optimize enterprise backup and recovery architectures for hybrid environments ensuring secure data protection compliance and operational resilience while collaborating with cross functional teams in a day shift hybrid work model.

What you’ll do In the role, you will:

• Design, implement, and manage enterprise backup and archive solutions using Rubrik and Commvault/HP Data Protector.
• Administer and support large-scale production Rubrik and Commvault/HP Data Protector environments.
• Architect and manage Highly Available (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot complex backup issues, including performance tuning, IO profiling, and implementation of best practices.
• Provide escalation support and mentor junior backup specialists on complex issues.
• Design and manage hybrid cloud backup solutions across AWS and Azure.
• Implement and manage Azure IaaS/PaaS data protection using native and third-party backup tools.
• Configure and manage Microsoft 365 data protection (native and third-party tools) for Exchange, SharePoint, and Active Directory.
• Conduct backup and storage audits and recommend transformation initiatives.
• Lead sizing exercises and respond to RFPs for backup/archiving solutions.
• Create and maintain runbooks, SOPs, and best-practice documentation.
• Support problem management and incident management processes.
• Conduct Proof of Concepts (PoCs) for new backup technologies and solutions.
• Present technical solutions to both C-level clients and non-technical stakeholders.
• Manage relationships and negotiations with alliance partners, vendors, and third-party support providers.
• Handle client visits and represent the backup/DR practice in client-facing engagements.

What you’ll need to succeed:

• 15+ years of backup and archive Design, administration and Consulting Experience in Rubrik and Commvault/HP Data Protector related products.
• Good trouble shooting skills and being able to mentor backup specialists and handle Escalated calls.
• Must have worked on large production Rubrik and Commvault/HP data protector environments.
• Must have comprehensive and expert knowledge of backup architecture and its hardware / software products.
• Must have Microsoft Azure fundamentals and architect knowledge
• Backup appliances – Rubrik (Physical & Virtual) administration skills.
• Should have designed and managed Highly Available / Disaster Recovery infrastructure.
• Experience of Unix Operating system / VMWARE / Windows
• Experience in Hybrid Cloud Backup (AWS and Azure)

Cognizant offers an annual salary between $120,000-$150,000 with following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements:
