About the role
As a ServiceNow Technical Consultant, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and configuring high‑quality solutions across the ServiceNow platform. You will be a valued member of the delivery team and collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to build scalable, integrated solutions that enhance IT service management and asset management capabilities.
In this role, you will:
- Design and implement ServiceNow solutions, including Service Catalog workflows, ITIL processes, and ITAM modules.
- Develop integrations between ServiceNow and external systems using APIs and web services.
- Extend and enhance the ServiceNow data model to support CMDB, AMDB, SACM, and related modules.
- Perform development, testing, and debugging using JavaScript and server‑side scripting.
- Provide 2nd/3rd level support, resolving incidents, defects, and enhancement requests.
- Review designs, validate test scenarios, and ensure overall solution quality.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications and implementation details.
- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders, providing updates and supporting delivery execution.
- Mentor junior team members (for experienced candidates), ensuring adherence to best practices and high‑quality delivery standards.

What you need to have to be considered
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of hands‑on experience with the ServiceNow platform.
- Experience developing and configuring ServiceNow solutions across ITSM/ITAM or related modules.
- Strong technical skills in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and ServiceNow scripting.
- Experience building integrations using REST APIs or web services.
- Knowledge of ITIL processes, CMDB, and asset management concepts.
- Experience working in Agile environments and across the software development lifecycle.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
These will help you stand out
- ServiceNow certifications such as Certified System Administrator (CSA) or Application Developer.
- Experience across multiple ServiceNow product lines beyond ITSM.
- Exposure to platform governance, data model design, and enterprise integrations.
- Experience mentoring junior developers or contributing to technical leadership.
- Strong stakeholder communication skills, including translating technical concepts for non‑technical audiences.

The annual salary for this position will be in the range of $87,000 - $100,000 CAD depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
