About the role
As a Senior Android Developer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, testing, and deploying high-quality Android applications using Kotlin and Java. You will be a valued member of the application development team and work collaboratively with Technical Program Managers, technical leads, developers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into reliable mobile solutions.

In this role, you will:
- Design and develop scalable, maintainable, and high-performing Android applications using Kotlin and Java.
- Analyze business requirements, recommend technical solutions, and lead discussions with Technical Program Managers, technical leads, and project stakeholders.
- Build application features in accordance with established coding standards and Android development best practices.
- Create unit tests and meet or exceed the code-coverage targets established by the project.
- Support application testing, release management, and successful deployment to production.
- Implement appropriate application monitoring solutions based on client and project requirements.
- Prepare and maintain technical designs, service specifications, and application documentation.
- Provide technical guidance to developers preparing functional and technical specifications.
What you need to have to be considered
- Six or more years of professional Android application development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with the Android SDK and Android Studio.
- Proficiency in Kotlin and Java for Android application development.
- Experience designing and developing applications using MVVM, MVC, or MVI architecture.
- Experience building unit tests and working toward established code-coverage requirements.
- Knowledge of Android application testing, production deployment, and app distribution processes.
- Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to lead technical conversations and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
These will help you stand out
- Experience providing technical guidance or mentorship to Android developers.
- Knowledge of application monitoring and production-support practices.
- Experience preparing technical designs, service specifications, and functional documentation.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience contributing to coding standards, design reviews, and application-quality initiatives.

Salary and Other Compensation:
Applications will be accepted until October 3rd, 2026.
The annual salary for this position is between $68,000 – $110,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
