About the role

We are seeking a Full Stack Dev (Java/Angular)with 6 to 9 years of experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Angular JS AWS SQL Spring Boot Java JavaScript and mySQL. Experience in the Cards & Payments domain is a plus. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects that drive our company's success and impact the financial industry positively.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and maintain high-quality software solutions using Angular JS AWS SQL Spring Boot Java JavaScript and mySQL to meet business requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design implement and test software applications that enhance user experience and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure the scalability and performance of applications by optimizing code and implementing best practices in software development.
  • Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge with team members fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues ensuring minimal disruption to business operations and maintaining high system availability.
  • Contribute to the design and architecture of software systems ensuring alignment with business goals and industry standards.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to incorporate innovative solutions into our software development processes.
  • Work closely with product managers and stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements translating them into technical specifications and actionable tasks.
  • Implement security best practices to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers helping them grow their skills and contribute effectively to the team.
  • Collaborate with QA teams to ensure thorough testing and validation of software applications delivering high-quality products to our clients.
  • Document software designs technical specifications and user guides to facilitate knowledge sharing and support future development efforts.
  • Engage in continuous learning and professional development to enhance technical skills and contribute to the team's success.

What you need to be considered:

  • Possess a strong background in Angular JS AWS SQL Spring Boot Java JavaScript and mySQL with a proven track record of delivering successful projects.
  • Demonstrate experience in the Cards & Payments domain understanding industry-specific challenges and opportunities.
  • Exhibit excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a hybrid work model.
  • Show proficiency in collaborating with cross-functional teams and communicating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Display a commitment to continuous learning and staying current with emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • Have a strong understanding of software development life cycle methodologies and best practices.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously ensuring timely delivery of projects.

Salary and Other Compensation:

We regularly assess market data to ensure we offer a competitive compensation package for our associates. The base salary for this position ranges between $94,000 – $110,500 per year. Where the successful candidate may fall within the range depends on relevant education, work and/or management experience and other business-related and job-necessary qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual performance-based bonus, as well as benefits that support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing.

Working arrangements

This is a Hybrid model role in Halifax - Nova Scotia - Canada.
