Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow Lead Developer to lead the design, development, integration, and enhancement of enterprise ServiceNow solutions. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership to development teams, drive platform best practices, and deliver scalable solutions across ServiceNow modules while ensuring alignment with business and IT objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead ServiceNow development activities, including design reviews, code reviews, and deployment planning.
- Design and develop solutions leveraging ServiceNow platform capabilities, including ITSM, CMDB, CSDM, ITOM, ITAM/HAM, CSM, and HRSD.
- Develop and optimize Client Scripts, Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Policies, and Flow Designer workflows.
- Architect and implement integrations using Integration Hub, REST APIs, SOAP services, and MID Servers.
- Establish and maintain CMDB governance, Discovery schedules, data reconciliation rules, and CSDM alignment.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, and product owners to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Support platform upgrades, release management activities, and Automated Test Framework (ATF) implementation.
- Provide technical mentoring and guidance to developers, administrators, and support teams.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues and performance bottlenecks.
- Ensure adherence to ServiceNow development standards and best practices.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development and administration experience.
- 2+ years of experience leading ServiceNow development teams or projects.
- Strong expertise in JavaScript, Glide API, Service Portal, App Engine, Flow Designer, and Integration Hub.
- Proven experience with ITSM, CMDB, and CSDM.
- Hands-on experience with at least two additional ServiceNow modules such as ITOM, ITAM/HAM, CSM, HRSD, SPM, or SecOps.
- Experience designing and implementing REST/SOAP integrations and MID Server configurations.
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and ITIL processes.
- Experience with ServiceNow upgrades, release management, and governance.
Preferred Certifications
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)
- Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) – ITSM, CMDB, Discovery, or HAM
- ITIL v4 Foundation

The annual salary for this position is between $75,000- $115,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and is subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
